There are two types of work-from-home employment: self-employment and working for other employers as an employee. Self-employed people work for themselves as work-at-home business owners or independent contractors. They find their own clients who offer them various work-at-home jobs. Some self-employed individuals are lucky in finding many different jobs to work at home, while many others cannot find enough work-at-home jobs to pay the bills. Most people who are work-at-home employees of other companies do not have the problem of fluctuating earnings, because they are paid a salary or commission that they can more or less anticipate. Thus, the nature of their work-from-home employment is more stable, compared to self-employed individuals who can have one client one month and ten the next month. Work-from-home employees also do not have the pressure that comes with searching for constant jobs to work at home and possibly losing their work-from-home business. Instead, their bosses give them the instructions for their specific work-at-home jobs. Employees who have jobs to work at home often have a full-time or part-time work-at-home job during normal business hours. Self-employed people, on the other hand, have the privileges of setting their own schedules and not having a boss to guide their work-from-home employment. For some people with work-at-home jobs, the complete autonomy is welcome. Further, self-employed individuals can possibly enjoy the benefits of a lucrative form of work-from-home employment. With no monthly office rent and related expenses to worry about, if work-at-home business owners work hard and get high-paying work-at-home job assignments, business can tremendously grow. This is not usually the case when it comes to work-at-home employees—career growth is possible, with limitations though. Compared to self-employed work-from-home individuals, employees with work-at-home jobs have fewer responsibilities. However, both types of work-from-home employment are susceptible to scams. No matter how much you want to have jobs to work at home, make sure you choose legitimate work-at-home job opportunities. Remember that you always have the power of accepting a certain work-at-home job or rejecting it.
